Bio: Ella F.B. Watson (b. 1983) Ella was raised in Virginia, and spent her most formative years in Blacksburg, VA, home of Virginia Tech. Inspired by artists such as Frida Khalo, Will Eisner, Felix Gonzales Torres, and David Wojnarowicz, her work is often humorous yet cathartic, trying to make light of bad situations.  Using whatever medium and resources are accessible to her, Ella is an interdisciplinary artist, working in numerous media to fit the conceptual nature and function of her work.  Using skills in sculpture, drawing, painting, film, graphic design, and inspired by her sorted past, Ella’s work is about coping, perseverance, and hope in impossible situations. Ella had a living-related liver transplant on June 16, 2009 at New York Presbyterian Hospital in Wahsington Heights, NYC. Ella's sister, Jen Watson of Brooklyn, NY, gave her half of her liver and both are doing well. Ella Watson is currently married and living in Astoria, Queens, New York.
